The First National Harm Reduction Conference will take place in Oakland, California this month, beginning with a reception on the evening of Tuesday, Sept. 17 and continuing for four full days (and some evenings), with a multitude of sessions covering many different aspects of harm reduction, including harm reduction practice, expanding drug treatment options, putting harm reduction programs in place, needle exchange, harm reduction as violence prevention and intervention, community organizing, networking, harm reduction policy, organizing user groups, occupational health, art and culture, HIV/AIDS, sexual health, research, mental health, recovery, spirituality, population-specific harm reduction and more.

Registration fees are $240 for members of the Harm Reduction Coalition and $260 for non-members; or $60 per day for members and $65 for non-members. (Membership in HRC is $25.)
