DRCNet is now offering regional sublists for information concerning state-level legislation and other important concerns. (We originally wanted to have a separate list for every state, but it just wasn't practical.) These are not discussion groups; they are simply an extension of the drc-natl announcements mailing list, and as such will only have occasional bulletins sent out. I would like to eventually get every drc-natl subscriber subscribed to one of the regional lists, to be able to provide more complete information to you. In some cases I already have the needed information and can take care of it directly. However, to assure that you receive all the relevant DRCNet rapid-response-team bulletins, please follow the subscription instructions, or send your request by e-mail to [email protected].
New mailing lists:
DRC-ALL: This is for people who would like to receive bulletins relating to all states. Send e-mail to [email protected] with the line "subscribe drc-all firstname lastname" in the message.
DRC-NE: This is for people who are interested in information relating to any of the following states: Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut. Send e-mail to [email protected] with the line "subscribe drc-ne firstname lastname" in the message.
DRC-MIDATL: This is for people who are interested in information relating to any of the following: New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, District of Columbia. Send e-mail to [email protected] with the line "subscribe drc-midatl firstname lastname" in the message.
DRC-PACIFIC: This is for people who are interested in information relating to any of the following: California, Oregon, Washington state, Alaska, Hawaii, US territory anywhere in the Pacific. Send e-mail to [email protected] with the line "subscribe drc-pacific firstname lastname" in the message.
I haven't yet decided how to categorize the rest of the country. If you have any suggestions on defining the remaining regions, or any modifications to the existing sublists that you think are important, please pass them along.
We will probably have an "international" bulletins list soon for similar information regarding other nations. (It's not that we're so chauvinistic that we lump all other countries together into one list; DRCNet just happens to be primarily focused on the American effort.)
There will be important announcements relating to California, Massachusetts, New Jersey and probably other states, going out in the very near future. We would greatly appreciate your help in tracking state-level legislation and events.
