CCU Urgently Needs Volunteers in its Last Week

The Californians for Compassionate Use medical marijuana ballot initiative is coming up against its final deadline for getting enough valid signatures to qualify for the 1996 ballot. CCU has topped the raw number of signatures needed, but has no margin of error for signatures that turn out to be invalid, as is always the case in petitioning campaigns. More petitioning volunteers are URGENTLY needed to bring in enough signatures by the 19th of this month to reach an acceptable margin of safety.

If CCU doesn't make the ballot this time, it can't happen again until 1998. The next week will make the difference between history and disappointment. If you can spare any time to put into this effort, please download or order a petition form on the web at http://www.medicalmarijuana.org, or call Chris Conrad at (510) 215-8326. (Even if you don't live in the Bay Area, Chris can tell you how to get hold of a petition.)

Remember, all petitions need to be in by the 19th, regardless of the number of signatures on them.
