"Smoke a Joint, Lose Your License"
Hearings April 17th

On Monday, April 17th, the California Assembly Transportation Comittee will be holding hearings on A.B. 1304 by Larry Bowler (R-Elk Grove; FAX 916:362:4164) to indefinitely extend California's "Smoke a Joint, Lose Your License Bill," now scheduled to expire on December 1.

Legislators should be reminded that a new poll by David Binder research found that California voters throughout the state oppose "Smoke a Joint, Lose Your License" by nearly 2-1.

Please ask your assembly-person and the committee members to oppose A.B. 1304 and instead support S.B. 1198 by Sen. Quentin Kopp (Ind - S.F.) which would opt out of the federal "Smoke a Joint, Lose Your License" mandate. Write to them at State Capitol, Sacramento 95814.
