Medical Marijuana: Federal Legislation Needed

At the annual NORML conference this past Labor Day weekend, Rep. Barney Frank, the keynote speaker, informed members of NORML that despite all the recent publicity surrounding the medical marijuana issue, letters to Congress on the subject have been virtually nil.

You can help work for medicinal availability of cannabis by writing to your U.S. Representative and two U.S. Senators and asking them to sponsor or co- sponsor legislation that would:

  1. provide immediate, legal access for marijuana to individuals with medical need;

  2. promote further research into marijuana's medicinal value; and

  3. ensure that neither patients nor doctors will fear prosecution for possession, prescription or cultivation of marijuana for medicinal use.

See Federal Legislation to learn how to reach your elected members of Congress.
